Sentence: An in camera edit exploring the relationship between sound, movement and texture. 16mm double exposure using a Bolex and it’s designed features for rough editing.

One of my first attempts at a narrative film with no dialogue as a part of the NYFA program.

Coming from the non-narrative space you can see early on that I leaned on my hobby of skateboarding as a crutch. Nonetheless this work helped shaped my understanding of shot order and editing in a narrative film.

A study based on the writing of Takahashi Ikegami referencing the mutation of the information that is inherent within a tape to machine system. Shot on miniDV and a Sony VX1000.
